Since it's
formation in 1978, TriCounty Health Department has been governed
by a nine-member Board of Health which is structured to allow
for broad public representation of all people in Daggett, Duchesne
and Uintah Counties. The unpaid terms of board members are staggered.
Members are either elected officials or appointees.
Board members
are dedicated to furthering the health and well being of Uintah
Basin citizens. The Board of Health meets bi-monthly and is responsible
for determining department program direction, as well as policies
relating to programs, and approving the department budget.
TriCounty
Health Department is dedicated to providing resources, education,
and skills to improve quality of life in the community by utilizing
the appropriate Health Promotion techniques.
We've updated
many of our programs to more closely meet the needs of the TriCounty
residents. For example, we are now able to provide education about
car seats and booster seats. These items can be purchased at a
low cost and are critical to the safety of our children. We have
also provide support to the Gold Medal Schools
Program. This program encourages schools to establish policy
and environmental supports that give students and staff more opportunities
for physical activity and nutritious food choices.
